Fresh, chemical-free vegetable box scheme and cut flowers subscription that is helping to end homelessness.

Untitled design (5).jpg

Root Connections (CIC) is a Community Garden that runs a local vegetable box delivery scheme and cut flower subscription service - grown to organic principles to support our (DAC) homeless hostel on site, Dairy House. We deliver within a 12mile radius of BA3 4QF to Radstock, Bath, Shepton Mallet, Frome and surrounding areas of Somerset & B&NES.

Our mission is to help end rural homelessness and to improve the health and wellbeing of vulnerable adults with complex needs, primarily those who are homeless & rough sleeping.

We achieve this by…….

  • Supporting initial recovery - through Social & Therapeutic Horticulture, with our trained practitioners

  • Cultivating relationships with people in the community - Social reintegration

  • Learning to grow, produce & cook food - with an accredited City & Guilds qualification - life skills

  • Equipping for a more hopeful & sustainable future - encouraging better outcomes

  • Every penny of our profit is ploughed back into the project to expand our positive social impact.

Veg Box Scheme

We offer ‘one off’, weekly and fortnightly seasonal, chemical-free vegetable boxes - delivered free-of-charge to your door.

The money generated from our sales is reinvested back into our project, to support our residents living in community with us and to help bring an end to rural homelessness.

Flower Subscription

At Root Connections we grow beautiful scented flowers in a country garden style for you to enjoy through the seasons. We also offer a range of flower subscriptions and gift bouquets from April to September.

Ending Homelessness

As an organisation our mission is to improve health and wellbeing for vulnerable adults with complex needs, primarily those who are homeless and rough sleeping.

Root Connections is key to the support and care provided to residents of the Dairy House homeless shelter on the site of the farm and to the wider community. By offering creative social and therapeutic pathways to residents, our project re-connects vulnerable adults with complex needs to community life.

The project builds confidence, re-engages, develops social skills and offers practical help around re-skilling and re-training for work.

Root Connections was borne out of a faith community & continues to be rooted in our Christian values.

“So good to learn a new skill and be coached by an extremely encouraging, positive and gentle team who fed and watered us with delicious cakes and drinks throughout the morning. A day I will treasure for a long time.”

Become a Friend of the Farm

We urgently need to raise £50,000 for an outdoor Community Hub , an all-year round, heated space that will bring individuals and the community together - in all weathers - and crucially during the long winter days when our beneficiaries need it most.
